Course Overview

When public relations and corporate diplomacy is unclear, people default to protecting their own function. Managers are promoted for competence and then judged on corporate diplomacy, which nobody trained them for. The course sets out a working method for this aspect of organisational leadership that participants can apply the week they return. Participants come from operational and oversight roles, and both perspectives on public relations and corporate diplomacy are used deliberately. The result is the confidence to make and defend decisions about the wider organisational leadership agenda under scrutiny. Benchmarking exercises repeatedly place corporate diplomacy among the areas with the widest performance spread. Moving public relations and corporate diplomacy from written policy into daily practice is not achieved by a single decision. Sessions alternate between guided analysis of corporate diplomacy and supervised application. It ends with a prioritised list of changes to this area of organisational leadership that the participant is prepared to defend internally.
