Course Overview

Almost every serious incident involving food and beverage safety was preceded by a signal somebody noticed and nobody escalated. Regulators judge beverage safety on evidence of application, not on the existence of a document. It treats the occupational health and safety capability as an operating discipline and equips participants to run it as one. It is pitched for practitioners with responsibility for food and beverage safety, not for observers of it. The course leaves participants able to diagnose weaknesses in the wider occupational health and safety agenda before they become incidents. The difficulty is not agreeing that beverage safety matters — it is deciding what to stop doing to make room for it. Sessions alternate between guided analysis of food and beverage safety and supervised application. Organisations that document beverage safety properly resolve disputes about it far more quickly. It ends with a prioritised list of changes to this area of occupational health and safety that the participant is prepared to defend internally.
