Investigate incidents involving workplace ergonomics to root cause without suppressing reporting.
Ergonomics in the Work Environment
Learn to design, measure and defend your organisation's approach to workplace ergonomics.
Course Overview
Regulators judge workplace ergonomics on evidence of application, not on the existence of a document. Almost every serious incident involving this aspect of occupational health and safety was preceded by a signal somebody noticed and nobody escalated. Each session closes with a decision the participant must justify about the occupational health and safety discipline in their own setting. The programme takes participants through workplace ergonomics end to end, from framing the problem to closing it out. The most reliable predictor of sound the practice within occupational health and safety is whether anyone reviews it when nothing has gone wrong. Most organisations already have a policy on this area of occupational health and safety; far fewer can show it working. The programme builds the judgement to know which parts of workplace ergonomics to standardise and which to leave flexible. Participants come from operational and oversight roles, and both perspectives on the occupational health and safety capability are used deliberately. Participants leave with a first-ninety-days plan for the occupational health and safety discipline rather than a set of notes.
